DoingItWell.org is a project created by community oriented child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist Dr. Byron M. A. Young, MD. The site is meant to serve as a hub for tools and resources to help and inspire the community nurture and maintain their own emotional wellness. It is a space to help you help yourself.
Dr. Byron M. A. Young, MD is a full-time as a supervising psychiatrist with the Mental Health Service Corps working with primary care physicians and social workers, and works part time as an outpatient psychiatrist at Children of Promise working with children and families. Dr. Young was born and raised in the New Orleans, LA metro area and attended Xavier University of Louisiana for undergrad and Tulane University School of Medicine for medical school. Dr. Young came to NYC for general psychiatry residency at Hofstra Northshore-LIJ at Zucker Hillside and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at New York Presbyterian of Columbia and Cornell Universities. Dr. Young is passionate about being impactful in under resourced communities in both his daily work with the MHSC and community service participating in and developing creative programs and initiatives to serve as tools for the improved emotional wellness of citizens of NYC and beyond. Dr. Young has also consulted with program development for organizations like New York Presbyterian Hospital of Columbia and Cornell Universities and their Teen Hub program as well as Google and the New York City Department of Health.
